Unlocking Us with Brené Brown

I was a little late to the Brené Brown game, but I've become a huge fan of hers over the past few months. Dr. Brown's work has primarily been in the fields of shame, vulnerability, courage, and leadership (the link to her popular TED Talk, "The Power of Vulnerability," can be found on the Videos page of this site), but her podcast also delves into a wide range of topics such as racism, faith and religion, body image issues, parenting during a pandemic, and so much more.

Favorite episodes:

  • Brené with Emily and Amelia Nagoski on Burnout and How to Complete the Stress Cycle

  • Dr. Marc Brackett and Brené on “Permission to Feel”

  • Brené with Sonya Renee Taylor on “The Body is Not an Apology”

  • Brené with Sue Monk Kidd and Jen Hatmaker on Longing, Belonging and Faith

Ten Percent Happier with Dan Harris

A coworker of mine recommended Ten Percent Happier to me after I told him that I had started meditating. I am a loyal Headspace app user for my meditations, but I really like this podcast. The host, Dan Harris, is an ABC News anchor who had a panic attack live on "Good Morning America," which prompted him to begin practicing meditation and eventually led him to publish his bestselling book, 10% Happier. In this podcast, he explores topics including the practice of meditation, â€‹mindfulness, social anxiety, relationships, and more.
